Bulldozers were deployed inside the campus of Shri Ramswaroop University in Barabanki on Saturday as part of a major crackdown on alleged illegal encroachments on government land.

The Uttar Pradesh government has made biometric attendance compulsory for teaching and non-teaching staff in all state universities from June this year.
In a statement on Tuesday, UP Governor Anandiben Patel directed all universities to install necessary equipment before June.

She stated that that the biometric attendance would be registered through a central server.

The Governor said that salaries for June would be disbursed though this system.

With the programs like “Make in India, Made in India, and Local for Vocal”, the government has always encouraged indigenous products and local manufacturers to come forward and such initiatives are giving us fruitful results now.
“Six schools have been included in the fold of our pilot attempt, which will gradually be extended to all the 3567 primary schools across the district. This will help us monitoring the actual attendance of our teachers, as from time to time we get complaint from the guardians that many are joining their daily classes late,” said Rinku Banerjee, Chairperson, District Primary School Council in Bankura.
